“Exclusively for Birders” is a special tour for both amateur and expert birders. It covers the entire spectrum of bird habitats from semi-arid drylands and low wetlands to highland wet montane forests.
The tour length is 17 days and it covers the following destinations.

Itineraries
Day 1
Rest in Negombo
On arrival, to be met by our English-speaking Guide. Transfer to your hotel in Negombo. [Optional: Negombo fish market, visit Palagathuray beach]
Overnight Stay at Negombo
Day 2
Travel to Wilpattu
Leave Negombo after breakfast. En route, do birding at Anawilundawa Sanctuary. Settle at Wilpattu. Wilpattu National Park is an undisturbed forest with pristine wildlife.

Day 3
Safari in Wilpattu
Full-day jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park with packeted breakfast & lunch. [Optional: night walk in the village to see night wildlife]

Day 4
Birding at Mannar
Travel to Mannar. On the way stop at Thanthirimale for birding in the dry scrubs and village setup with tanks. Evening birding at Korukulum.

Day 5
Transfer to Habarana
Visit Vankalai Bird Sanctuary. On the way to Habarana, visit Giant’s Tank.
Birding at Sigiriya Sanctuary.

Day 6
Safari in Kawudull/ Minneriya National Park
Jeep safari to Kawudull/ Minneriya National Park with packed breakfast and lunch. Visit Pidurangala for birding.

Day 7
Transfer to Kandy
Travel to Kandy. Enroute visit Pitawala Patana and Riverston. Birding at Peradeniya Botanical Garden,

Day 8
Birding at Udawattakele Forest Reserve
Morning birding at Udawattakele Forest Reserve, evening visit to Hakgala Botanic Garden, and if time permits Gregory Lake.
Overnight Stay at Nuwara Eliya
Day 9
Transfer to Udawalawa
Travel to Udawalawa National Park, morning bird watching at Horton Plains National Park. En route, stop at Ella for lunch.

Day 10
Safari at Udawalawa National Park
Half-day jeep safari at Udawalawa National Park. Travel to Eastern Sinharaja. Birding in the Rain forest.

Travel to Sinharaja Kudawa Side
After early morning bird watching at Deniyaya, travel to Sinharaja Kudawa side. Evening birding at Ketalapaththala road at Kudawa.

Birding in Sinharaja Rain Forest
Full-day birding in Sinharaja Rain Forest. Best place to see several endemics.

Birding at Pitakele and Transfer to Kithulgala
Morning half-day birding at the Pitakele area. Travel to Kithulgala, en route visit Runakanda, Morapitiya Forest Reserve

Birding at Kithulgala Forest Reserve
Birding at Kithulgala Forest reserve. Evening birding at the village set up.

Full-day birding in Kithulgala Forest Reserve, including nocturnal bird watching.

Transfer to Colombo
Travel to Colombo, shopping during the day time and evening visit to Diyasaru Wetland Park.
