Salindra is a passionate conservation scientist with a particular interest in ornithology and arachnology. He is one of the co-founders of ECO ARCH (Pvt.) Ltd. Additionally, he serves as a visiting lecturer at the University of Sabaragamuwa and Spectrum Campus in Colombo.
Salindra holds a doctoral degree from the University of Guangxi, China, where he conducted research on how different land-use matrices affect forest bird movements in Sri Lanka. He also completed his master’s degree in Ecology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and his BSc. at the University of Colombo.
He is an award-winning researcher and is actively involved in several environmental organizations, such as the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka, the Foundation for Ecology and Research on Nature, and the Young Biologists’ Association of Sri Lanka. Salindra is particularly interested in landscape ecology, community ecology of animals, biodiversity crediting and restoration ecology, and disseminating biodiversity conservation knowledge to the public.
He has represented Sri Lankan national-level expert panels in several taxa, including mammals, birds, and spiders.
Salindra’s interest in tourism developed during his undergraduate studies, and he actively involves in ecotourism and bird watching.
